Eugene Airport Gets LEED Award

The U.S. Green Building Council recognized the Eugene Airport air cargo building for its sustainability efforts in keeping buildings both energy efficient and environmentally sound. The Federal Aviation Administration grant, ConnectOregon grant and other Eugene Airport funds helped construct the $3.1 million building. Mason says more than 90 percent of the construction waste was reused or recycled. These recycled materials helped reduce energy use in the building by 17 percent.
